INTERVIEW 11.08.01 WITH RANDY CASTILLO

Ziggy - Randy's dogWhat's been going on lately.... How are you doing and what are your near future plans?

Well I have been working hard writing & recording w/ Mike Inez of Ozzy & Alice n Chains fame on a new as yet to be named band. He's got a studio up in the mountains near here & we have been woodshedding & coming out with some amazing stuff if I do say so myself. It's very refreshing & satisfying musically to be working on something new like this. We just got an amazing guitar twanger & are checking out a few singers at this time but haven't made a decision on anyone as of yet. Healthwise I'm 100% back, strong & kicking.

What is a typical day like for you now?

A typical day for me now is anything but. My atypical day can involve driving up the mountains to work or staying here in LA.... to work. But I like to hang w/ my dog Ziggy a lot so I take him out to the canyons around here for a hike or a nearby park & play with him. There's a picture of him attached to this. Isn't that a great smile?

What happened with the Ozzy record? I heard you where going to be on it.

I was still too sick when Ozzy was doing his record. I was never supposed to do it anyway. I was told I would be doing his solo tour though & I prepared & got in shape & was chomping at the bit to go out but then I never heard from them again... no calls ,no nothing, not even a "sorry but we're using someone else. I'm a big guy & I can handle disappointment. I cant handle false promises. He'll be just fine without me though & I'll move on & do other things.

What is your current relationship with Motley?

I haven't heard from those guys in eons so I assume my status in that band is non-existent. I wish them well....

In your opinion, what happened to New Tattoo?

Nothing happened. That's the problem.

Is there anything you'd like to say to your Motley fans?

Well thank all of you for your well wishes & prayers while I was sick. It meant a lot to me to hear from you all. I'm sorry that things don't always turn out as good as you work for in any given situation, but at the end of the day I go into anything I do with an open heart & try my best to make it good especially for the fans who believe in what we are trying do. I'm still a fan of Motley Crue`s music & I'm glad to have been a part of it even as short lived as it was. I look forward to the future now & what it holds in store, so keep an eye & an ear out for what will be coming your way. It is already sounding fucking heavy as gravity itself..... later
